Barbra Streisand is reflecting on her friendship withAriana Grande, who appeared on her The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume 2 album earlier this year.
In an unexpected social media post on Tuesday (Dec. 23), Streisand praised Grande for her talent and expressed her appreciation for their collaboration on their song, "One Heart, One Voice."
"Ariana is a young woman with an amazing talent. She has a beautiful voice like no one else, and so much more," Streisand wrote in the Instagram post, including a photo of their pair while working on a project together.
She continued, "She can act, she can dance, she can be funny! She’s also sweet, kind and thoughtful. I’m very proud of you Ariana and thanks for singing with me on my album…"

The message seemed to take Grande by surprise, who first commented "WHAT" on the post before adding her mutual appreciation for Streisand.

"Barbra !!!!!!!! what !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Grande wrote in a comment, adding, "oh my goodness, thank you so much for this kindest surprise today! you made my day, my year, my life! this means so much, coming from you. i just love you so. i miss you and i hope i get to hug you soon… all my love and appreciation. thank you."
Grande also shared the post to her own Instagram story, writing, "i'm crying what is happening" and calling Streisand her "sweetest queen."
In addition to their musical collaboration, fans are hoping to one day see Streisand and Grande on the big screen together. While Grande will be starring in the upcoming Meet the Parents sequel, Focker In-Law, Streisand has made it clear that she won't be returning to the franchise.
"Oh my God. They’d have to pay me a lot of money because I didn't get paid what the other people got paid and so I'm pissed off," she shared on on Variety's Just for Variety podcast. "I was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men."
Only time will tell if Streisand changes her mind!
