It's been four years since we've seen any new episodes of *Euphoria*, but season 3 picks up a full five years from where we left off in the story of Zendaya's Rue, Sydney Sweeney's Cassie, Hunter Schafer's Jules, and the rest of this messy crop of characters.

The first trailer, which arrived on Wednesday, shows where most of our main players ended up after high school. It also comes with the news that *Euphoria* season 3 is set to premiere this April 12.

Rue is now in Mexico and still in debt to Laurie (Martha Kelly), who pops up to remind her of that open tab after all the drug drama in season 2. "A few years after high school, I don't know if life was exactly what I wished," Rue says, kicking off the footage. "And yet somehow, for the first time, I was beginning to have faith."

Cassie and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are still very much a thing. In fact, they're engaged. Series creator Sam Levinson previously confirmed we will indeed see them get married, promising one "unforgettable night." But Cassie's fiancé doesn't appreciate her new...hobby, which involves "just making content" for OnlyFans. We get a glimpse of Cassie in a sexy bunny outfit and posing on her bed.

"I work all day, and my bride-to-be is spreadeagled on the internet," Nate exclaims.

As for Jules, she's in art school and "very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs," Levinson stated during an HBO Max presentation in London back in December.

We also see scenes of Maddy (Alexa Demie) in Hollywood working at a talent agency, noting how every girl she meets is doing the "sugar baby" thing. Meanwhile, Lexi (Maude Apatow) is working as an assistant to a showrunner (played by Sharon Stone), and Ali (Colman Domingo) is still trying to maintain faith in Rue.

It's difficult, though, given the trouble Rue is in now. Among the new casting additions is Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (*Oz*, *The Union*) as a ruthless drug kingpin. Rue seems to be caught between Laurie and this new figure during the scene in Mexico as the two argue for ownership of her. "You make a deal with the Devil, and there's no turning back," Rue says.

Other newcomers to the cast this season will include Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Marshawn Lynch, and Trisha Paytas. Storm Reid previously confirmed that her character, Gia, Rue's sister, wouldn't appear in season 3, while Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat, revealed her departure from the show back in 2022.

Fezco was to have "a very strong part" in season 3 initially, Domingo once told *Vanity Fair*, but the actor Angus Cloud tragically died in 2023 at the age of 25 before the team could realize that vision.
