Cheryl Hines is pushing back on claims made in a book about her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Isabel Vincent's biography, *RFK Jr.: The Fall and Rise** *is packed with anecdotes about the Secretary of Health and Human Services' professional and personal lives, examining his diaries and interviewing sources. The book details his relationship with Hines, who he married in 2014, two years after his ex-wife Mary Richardson died in May 2012.
The book claims that RFK Jr. and Mary's daughter, Kyra, moved to Los Angeles to live with Hines while Mary was still alive. Vincent quoted a friend saying that Mary was “completely shattered" when Kyra moved west to live with Hines in the fall of 2011.**

Per Hines' own memoir, *Unscripted*, she writes that she "developed a special friendship with Bobby’s sixteen-year-old daughter Kyra," who was "struggling in school. "Bobby asked if I would consider allowing her to live at my house while she attended school in Los Angeles. I loved Kyra and was happy to take her in.”

Mary and RFK Jr. wed in 1994 and welcomed four children throughout their marriage: Conor, Kyra, Aidan, and William "Finn." Their marriage was allegedly tarnished by affairs and bullying. A source claimed in Vincent's book that RFK "definitely gaslit [Mary] and told her she was crazy and that her accusations about other women were fantasies."
RFK Jr. filed for divorce in May 2010. Mary died two years later by suicide when the divorce was still pending.
